Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat Temple Discovery

Your tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Siem Reap, and you will visit the following places.

  • At 8:00 am, start from the Angkor Thom South Gate.
  • Visit Bayon Temple, where the silent witnesses of time stand. The 216 enigmatic faces gaze over the horizon, and one can only wonder what they have seen throughout the ages.
  • Proceed to Prasat Baphuon, with its long causeway and an impressive giant reclining Buddha, a jigsaw puzzle only put back together in 2011 following a 37-year-long disruption caused by the war.
  • Head on to the Royal Palace, first built by King Suryavarman I and used continuously from the 11th to the late 16th century AD.
  • Visit Phimeanakas, hiding in the shaded jungle and offering a decent over-the-tree-tops view to those who conquer the steep steps to the top.
  • Continue to the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, both located in Angkor Thom.
  • After the lunch break, head to the historic Angkor Wat temple complex, the largest religious monument ever built.
  • Your tour guide will drop you off at your accommodation in Siem Reap.
