Sign up for the trekking tour of mesmerising Kashmir's Great Lakes and explore sprawling glaciers surrounding Sonmarg. Trek to the Nichnai Pass, and travel towards the Vishansar and Kishansar lakes into the Vishansar campsite. Enjoy a two-hour steep climb into the flatlands known as Mengandob. Visit flat meadows covered with brightly coloured wildflowers to reach the Gadsar Lake.
Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival - Srinagar - Sonmarg
- Arrive at Srinagar and then transfer to Sonmarg (2800 m, 87 km). It is a scenic drive from Srinagar to Sonmarg with a beautiful mix of grasslands, scattered forests and snow-covered mountains.
Overnight stay in tents at Sitkari, 3 km. Short of Sonmarg.

Day 2: Sitkari Village - Nichnai
- Begin the trek with an ascent towards the Shokdhari campsite on a route lined with maple and pine trees. The highlight of the day’s hike is the enchanting view of Sonmarg and the sprawling glaciers surrounding Sonmarg!
- Travel to the Nichnai grazing ground (Shepherd’s valley) through a Silver Birch forest at night.

Day 3: Nichnai - Vishansar Lake
- Trek to Nichnai pass standing tall at 4080 m for a steep and gruelling ascent and descent towards the Vishansar and Kishansar lakes into the Vishansar campsite.
- Visit the Kishansar Lake at 1 km from the campsite with your Multilingual Kashmiri tour guide. Nothing that we say or write can prepare you for the beauty of this high-altitude alpine lake. The lake's water is crystal clear as mountains surround the lake, and the water changes the colour as the day proceeds. You are guaranteed to start feeling rejuvenated just sitting by the lake and listening to the lapping sounds of the water, and soaking in the scenic beauty.

Day 4: Vishansar Lake - Gadsar Lake
- Travel to the Krishansar lake, about 1/2 km from the Vishansar lake. Despite being close in the distance, the twin lakes can be seen together only from the top at Gadsar pass. Getting to the Gadsar pass at 4191 m is no easy task and will take a toll on your legs and back.
- Visit the flat meadows covered with brightly coloured wildflowers to reach Gadsar Lake.

Day 5: Gadsar Lake - Mengandob / Satsar Lake
- Embark on a two-hour steep climb up welcomes us early morning as we enter the flatlands known as Mengandob.
- Continue the trek, cross an army camp and get close to the Satsar lakes. The Satsar lakes are a collection of 7 lakes in a cascade formation. Fed by melting snow, a couple of these lakes dry up in summer and autumn.

Day 6: Satsar Lake - Gangbal Twin Lakes
- Climb mountains to reach the ridge at 3570 m
- Proceed further to reach the final ridge at 3000 m with your Kashmiri tour guide.
- View the twin lakes of Gangbal and Nundkol.
- Follow up the steep rocky and enter the green meadows, which will lead to the Nundkol Lake and Gangbal Lake.

Dat 7: Rest Day
- Relax by the lakes, explore surrounding meadows, soak in the magnificent mountains’ cape, uncover a few local legends about the lakes, share travel stories, meditate, exercise your photography skills and do anything that soothes your soul.

Day 8: Gangabal - Naranag
- Enjoy the last and final day of the Kashmir Great Lakes trek, as you must be exhausted.
- Start trekking towards the tree line alongside the stream and then through the pine forest and grassy lands to reach our final destination of Naranag, where our jeeps would be waiting for us for transfer to Srinagar for overnight stay.

Day 9: Srinagar – Departure
Depart for transfer to the airport for your flight for onward journey.
