Day 1: Lemosho Glades (2,100 m) to Big Tree Camp (2,650 m)
Pick-up at the lodge in Moshi and transfer to Lemosho gate to start the trek.
Leave in the morning from Moshi to Londorossi village.
Pass through the lush forest zone on to the lower slopes of the northern side, going to Shira Plateau.
Stay overnight at Mti Mkubwa at 2,650 m (4 to 5 hours trek).
7 kms – Altitude gain 700 m

Day 2: Big Tree (2,800 m) to Shira Camp 2 (3,480 m)
Walk through fine open moorlands.
Stay overnight at Shira 2 Hut (3,480 m).
14 km – 8 to 9 hours – Altitude gain 1,050 m

Day 3: Shira Camp 2 (3,850 m) to Barranco Camp (3,900 m)
This camp lies in a sheltered area below the remarkable cliffs of the Breach Wall. The Breach Wall, the dome of Uhuru and the edge of the Heim Glacier dominate the head of the valley.
Stay overnight at Barranco Camp at 3,900 m.
10 km – 6 to 7 hours – Altitude gain 700 m, down 600 m

Day 4: Barranco Camp (3,950 m) to Karanga Valley Camp (3,930 m)
Acclimatization Day. Continue your trek from Baranco to Karanga valley.
Stay overnight at Karanga camp at 3,930 m.
6 km - 3 to 4 hours - Altitude gain 250 m, down 250 m

Day 5: Karanga Camp (3,963 m) to Barafu Camp (4,600 m)
Trek to Barafu in the morning. Huge glaciers and cliffs can be seen, which mark this part of the mountain. Here is the last water point.
Stay overnight at Barafu Camp at 4,600 m.
4 km – 3 to 4 hours – Altitude gain 650 m

Day 6: Barafu Hut (4,600 m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) to Millennium Camp (3,100 m)
Begin the trek up to the final steep at midnight to reach Stella Point.
Walk steadily up the ridge and about the crater to reach Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m.
Take a descent from the summit.
Stay overnight at Millennium at 3,100 m.
19 km -12 to 14 hours – Altitude gain 1,295 m, down 2,105 m

Day 7: Millennium Camp (3,730 m) to Mweka Gate (1,800 m) to Moshi
Cover the last section of the mountain.
Trek down through the forests to the gate where your vehicle will be waiting to transport you back to Moshi.
13 km – 5 to 6 hours – descend 1,650 m
