Itinerary

1. Day 1- Welcome to Romania!

   • On day 1, we get to know each other. Our team will wait for you at the airport and bring you to Brasov.

   • Here, depending on what you want to do, you can choose to visit the city center or chill out in your room. Nevertheless, we need to decide the itineraries for the next few days, so after lunch, time for a briefing!

2. Day 2- Piatra Mare mountains

   • After we check the weather forecast, we start our trip towards Prahova Valley to get to Piatra Mare plateau, situated at 1800 m. We will put our splitboards on and start the walk to Piatra Mare chalet, our first stop.

   • We will have lunch, and then after more than 45 minutes of ascent, we will reach the starting point for our first ride. Depending on the general condition of the group, we can make two or more descents.

3. Day 3- Ciucas mountains

   • Ciucaș is the mountain where you will always find good snow and safe places with no avalanche risk. The climbs are smooth, and you can make up to 4-5 descents on a good day. The highest peak is at an elevation of 1,954 m, and from the main ridge, you can choose between the south-sided or the north-sided faces.

4. Day 4- Balea Freeride Arena I

   • Făgăraș Mountains: We change the mountain but keep the snow. During 70% of the time in the cold season, Bâlea snow stays fresh, so we take no chances here.

   • We will go from the Bâlea Waterfall to the Bâlea Lake by cable car. From here, the options are endless.

   • We can do multiple ascents up to 2,400 m altitude and then descend to the Bâlea Valley or Doamnei Valley.

   • We will have lunch at the Paltin Cabin, followed by the last downhill ride to Bâlea Waterfall.

5. Day 5- Balea Freeride Arena II

   • If the snow is in good condition, Bâlea is a good option also for the following day. As we said, the riding options are countless.

   • So, on the 2nd day, already warmed up after the 1st, we suggest a ride in which endurance and adrenaline go hand in hand. Going up, either on the split board or on the snowshoes, the ascent to the ridge will make you gladly look forward to the downhill.

   • You will enjoy a stunning panorama of the Făgăraș Mountains, including that of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains. The ridge will make you feel like you are on top of the world, and we assure you that the descent is long and exciting!

6. Day 6- Balea Freeride Arena III

   • We will take the south face, pray for good conditions and hope that the sun will accompany us. The view is incredible as the Făgăraș mountains full of snow are spectacular! 

   • Like the last days, depending on how you feel, we can go for one or more rides. Considering that the area is wilder, we should pack more supplies with us: tea, biscuits and chocolate are recommended.

7. Day 7- Departure day

   • Depending on your flight departure and snow conditions, we will ride down the Doamnei Valley or Bâlea Valley.

   • Then, transfer to the airport and thanks for coming, hope to see you again.
