Museum of Strategic Missile Forces tour
Explore the Museum of the Strategic Missile Forces, which is a unique military museum of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the museum's base, the combat position and command post of the missile regiment of the 46th missile division of the Strategic Missile Forces are used. It is a combat launch site with a silo-launcher, command post of a silo-based missile launch, ground equipment and auxiliary mechanisms of the OS missile system preserved in their original form. An exposition of special rocket technology is located on the territory of the combat position.
The museum is kept in working order by former rocket officers on combat duty at the specified missile system. The Mine-launcher here has a mine depth of 35 meters, which is highly protected, and the total weight of the protective device is about 121 tons. The command post shaft design is similar to that of the launcher shaft and is also equally protected. Its depth is 40 meters. A combat crew of 2 people are constantly on combat duty in the 11th compartment at a 30-meter depth for 6:00 in turn. The command post functions reliably in various conditions, including offline for 45 days.
Overall, this museum reveals to visitors the history of the 46th missile division. The division began its combat path during the Second World War and completed it in October 2001, leaving the Museum of Strategic Missile Forces for posterity. The focus of its exposure reminds us of the danger that still threatens the world today.
