Itinerary

1. Day 1- Nairobi – Aberdare National Park

   • On arrival, you will be picked from your hotel in Nairobi or airport by your Kenya tour guide for the trip and then driven to Aberdare National Park.

   • You will have an early lunch in Nyeri town. Your driver/guide will drive you up to reedbuck campsite, where you will also have an armed ranger with you.

   • You can also decide to trek through high moorlands through thickets of St. John's Wort and Rosewood Glades. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. 

   Meals and overnight: Reedbuck Campsite

2. Day 2- Safari at Aberdare National Park

   • There will be a full-day guided walk along the Kiandongoro Nature Trail as you enjoy the scenic Aberdare National Park.

   • Visit the thunderous Karuru and Chania waterfalls. The Karuru waterfalls drop down 273 metres, and you will have brief stopovers for bird watching and wildlife on the way.

3. Day 3- Aberdare - The Moorland Safari

   • After breakfast, start a 5-6 hours hike through a track dotted with giant heather, tussock grass, open forest glades, and rosewood trees to arrive at the Honi River finally. This hike will offer opportunities to encounter buffaloes, elephants and many antelopes, as well. Picnic lunch will be served en route.

4. Day 4- Aberdare National Park

   • Enjoy a leisure walk after breakfast through the forest and moorland areas on the way up the road head, and then arrive at the mouth of Honi River. The walk will take about 4-5 hours and allow adequate acclimatization in preparation for the following day's summit hike.

5. Day 5- The Summit - Nairobi

   • This is the summit day, and we start early for the summit point- Satima Peak. Today's walk will take around 2 to 3 hours, and we will arrive in time for the African dawn sunrise here. On a clear day, there is an opportunity to observe Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro on the horizon and even the surrounding vicinity of Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Ol Daiga hills.

   • You will have tea at the summit before descending to connect with your driver and vehicle for transfer back to Nairobi. You will have lunch in Nyeri town.

   • On arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at the pickup point or the airport as per your plans.
