Witness the most distinguishing features in a firefly, their light organs & have a village-experience on a house on stilts, fruit orchards & relaxed lifestyle.

Itinerary

Fireflies & Monkey Fantasy
- 1600 hrs: depart for Kuala Selangor - a Fishing Village.
- 1730 hrs: visit Fort Altingsburg Lighthouse perched at Bukit Melawati 27 meters in height - a haven for silvered leaf monkeys. Here you get to interact with them as in the picture above. An adorable animal, that climbs all over you as you feed it. A take-home experience!
- 1830 hrs: dinner at a Fishing Village - fresh seafood.
- 1930 hrs: catch a boat (silence to prevail!) to watch fireflies on mangrove trees, resembling rows of sparkling lights as in a Christmas Tree. A firefly flashing is a mating ritual. They make love daily.
- 2030 hrs: return to Kuala Lumpur arriving approx. 2200hrs.

Pterotyx Tener (fireflies) congregates on mangrove trees to feed on nectar and also to mate. They flash synchronously and the light is produced by a complex biochemical reaction in their light organs.
