Itinerary

1. Day 1- Nairobi – Aberdares

   • Pick-up from your hotel at 08:00 hours.

   • Pass through the industrial town of Thika and the intensely cultivated farms of central Kenya.

   • Have lunch at the Out Span hotel Nyeri before transferring to the Treetops hotel.

   Dinner and overnight stay at the Treetops hotel.

   Main destination: Aberdare National Park

   Meals and drinks: Lunch and dinner

2. Day 2- Aberdares – Samburu

   • Drive north along the northern foothills of Mount Kenya, a 17,058-foot dormant volcano with a glistening cap of ice and snow.

   • Arrive for lunch at Samburu Sopa Lodge. 

   • Proceed for an afternoon game drive in this grassland area, which forms the bridge between Kenya’s lush south and parched north. 

   • Watch out for herds of impalas, Grant’s gazelles, Elephants and African buffalo. 

   Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

3. Day 3- Samburu Full Game Drives

   • Go on a morning and an afternoon game drive, which includes outings at dawn, when animals are most active and afternoon, when the light is best for photography. 

   • Return to the lodge for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 

   • Stay close to the Ewaso Nyiro River where vast herds of plains game come to water, braving lions in the grass, leopards in the trees and giant crocodiles.

   Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

4. Day 4- Samburu – Lake Nakuru

   • Depart very early after breakfast with a brief stop at Thompson Falls to view the waterfalls.

   • Make your way down to the Rift valley floor. 

   • Have lunch at the Lodge upon arrival. 

   • Take a leisurely drive through Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its pink flamingos. 

   • Drive to the edge of the lake to view thousands of birds feeding in the alkaline water.

   • See the sweeping view from the top of Baboon Rocks; then look for warthogs and waterbucks as you leave the park. 

   Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

5. Day 5- Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

   • Check out from your Lodge. Traverse the Rift valley in the morning and ascend its western rim. 

   • Enter the Masai country, where sedentary crop farming gives way to nomadic cattle herding. Red-clad, spear-wielding Masai warriors tend their multi-coloured herds among the wild animals of the Loita plains.

   • Have lunch at one of the Lodges/Camps.

   • Proceed for an evening game viewing. 

   Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

6. Day 6- Masai Mara Full Game Drives

   • Go on an early morning game drive.

   • Return to the lodge for breakfast.

   • Spend a full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its famous residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo and the dangerous Crocodiles with a visit to Mara river. 

   Meals and overnight at booked camp or lodge.

7. Day 7- Masai Mara Full Game Dives

   • Go on an afternoon game drive in this reserve. The Masai Mara has a thriving, permanent population of plains game, augmented in the dry season by the migration of 2 million gnus and zebra from the vast, parched Serengeti plains. 

   All meals and overnight at the Lodge.

8. Day 8- Masai Mara – Nairobi – Departure

   • Leave Masai Mara and head back to Narok.

   • Travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keep an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle and head up the Rift Escarpment on the road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. 

   • Arrive in Kenya's bustling capital city in the afternoon and have lunch in the Carnivore Restaurant.

   • Drop off at the hotel/Airport.
