Itinerary

1. Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu

   • Transfer after breakfast for Samburu National Reserve. It offers unique panoramas of rounded, rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife, Buffalo Springs records over 365 species of birds. Game viewing and visibility is excellent: reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Elephant, Oryx, Somali Ostrich, Hippo, Crocodile, Gerenuk, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Hyena.

   • Arrive in time for your hot lunch and later have an evening game drive.

   Accommodation: Full Board at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

   Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.

2. Day 2: Full Day Samburu

   • Full day of game viewing at Samburu National Reserve with your private safari Land Cruiser and safari guide.

   Accommodation: Full Board at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

   Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

3. Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru

   • Depart after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is home to Warthogs, Waterbuck, Buffaloes, Reedbucks, and the occasional Leopard. White and Black Rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago, and you may find White Rhino at the southern end. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists' delight with more than 400 species of bird found here.
   • Arrive for your hot lunch.
   • Enjoy your afternoon game drive at Nakuru National Park.

   Transfer in the evening to Lake Elmenteita for an overnight stay.

   Accommodation: Full board at Sentrim Elmenteita.

   Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

4. Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

   • Proceed for the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve to arrive for lunch at AA Lodges Mara. The next two days shall be spent game viewing, either in the early morning hours or in the evening, as this offers the best chances of seeing animals.

   Accommodation: Full board at AA Lodges Mara.

   Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

5. Day 5: Full Day Masai Mara Game Reserve

   • Proceed for your full-day game drive. On clear days, Masai Mara offers fantastic orange tinted sunsets, and you will definitely want to capture this moment while sipping on a sundowner back at AA Lodges Mara. The Mara Reserve is 1510 sq. km of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile river woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek Rivers. Wherever you go in the Mara, you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topi, impala, wildebeest, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. It is also common to see Lions either basking after a heavy meal or to survey the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common.

   Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

6. Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve to Nairobi

   • Being your last day at Masai Mara Game Reserve, you can either choose to go for an early morning balloon trip, which is usually a very outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains and the wildlife below, after which you come back down for a beautiful champagne breakfast alternatively you could opt for an early morning game drive before being transferred to a Nairobi hotel or airport.

   Accommodation: End of Tour (No accommodation).

   Meals Plan: Breakfast.
