Day 01
Imperial Landmarks of Petrópolis
- Meet your tour guide, who will pick you up from the hotel and drive towards the Serra dos Órgãos mountains to the city of Petrópolis.
- Make your first stop at the old casino hotel, Quitandinha, for photos during an external visit. It is the largest and most exquisite casino hotel in Latin America, with an architectural style that combines Hollywood Rococo interiors and Norman-French exteriors.
- Follow the banks of the Piabanha River towards the city centre, where the Imperial Palace, public buildings, commerce, and services are located.
- Visit the Imperial Museum, the cathedral, and the Crystal Palace. Begin in the gardens around the palace, designed by the Parisian landscaper Jean Baptiste Binot. With about 100 species of trees and flowers from more than 15 regions of the world - including Mexico, Japan, India, Ecuador, China, Australia, and Madagascar - as well as French grass, the gardens still preserve the original landscape lines in both the flowerbeds and the arrangement of plant species. The museum's collection consists of pieces linked to the Brazilian monarchy, including objects and furniture from Orleans and Bragança, as well as the emperor's crown.
- Walk through the imperial streets to arrive at the Cathedral of San Pedro de Alcantar. Have lunch (not included).
- Continue to the House of Santos Dumont, known as "The Enchanted," a museum located in the municipality of Petrópolis.
- Return to Rio de Janeiro.
