Chaullin Island tour
Board your motorcoach and take a scenic one-hour ride to Calbuco (City of Blue Water). It is actually an island that is linked to the mainland by a 240 m long rock-cut. There is a large number of canning factories and salmon farming centres here.
Upon arrival, make a brief visit to the municipal market where you can find a wide variety of seafood, fish and crafts.
Board a boat to navigate to Isla Chaullin and get a briefing by the local hosts on reaching there.
See the traditional preparation process for Curanto. The seafood, sausages, chicken, pork and vegetables are layered in a pit filled with hot stones.
Begin your trek to the island, where you can see millenary trees and notice an infinite calm. Enjoy an appetizing cocktail served in this special natural environment.
Continue your tour to explore the other corners of the island. Upon your return, the Curanto will be served. You can relish your food while listening to the local folklorists playing Chilotas tunes.
Enjoy your free time to explore the island.
Return to Puerto Montt.
