Get a ride a snow-cat vehicle* to Lampivaara Amethyst Mine to dig your very own valuable gemstone, amethyst, with professional tools and guidance, and take it home as a souvenir (if it can fit your closed hand). Warm yourself up with a cup of hot blueberry juice with a Lappish reindeer meat sandwich. After this unique experience we will drop you back to your hotel.

Itinerary

Lampivaara Amethyst Mine Tour
Ride the snow-cat (a large threaded snow vehicle) up to the top of Lampivaara, where a beautiful view and the amethyst mine await you.
Use mining tools to dig for amethysts and bring some home with you if it fits in your closed fist.
See Northern Lights in the middle of the day, if you’re lucky, during ‘Kaamos’ (the time when northern Finland has almost no light). The top of Lampivaara makes for a great viewing location.
Descend back down with the snow-cat and have a reindeer meat sandwich served with hot blueberry juice
Return to your hotel.
