Itinerary

1. Kolkata to Sunderbans

   • Start your adventurous Sundarbans tour from the heart of West Bengal - Kolkata. In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel/railway/airport Kolkata as per your suitability and drive for about 2 hours to the Gathkhali jetty.

   • Upon arrival in Gathkhali, transfer to the tourist lodge located in the Sunderbans via a motorized boat. This journey would take you down the rivers Hogil, Gomar, Durgaduni, and Gumdi in about an hour and a half. 

   • After lunch, set off on a motorboat to the Sundarbans National Park. Here, you will spend some time admiring and spotting the rich wildlife in the region from the Sanjekhali watchtower. Also visit the Sajnekhali Museum.

   • Enjoy a picturesque view of the setting sun before returning to the resort for rest or heading for an entertaining evening of local folk dance performances.

   Dinner and overnight halt at the resort in Sunderbans.

2. Sunderbans Game and Birding Cruise

   • Start the day with a delicious breakfast and then head out for a full-day game cruise and birding tour to Neti Dhopani watchtower. The sweet water pond at Neti Dhopani attracts a lot of wild animals and offers you a chance to view them from up close.

   • Return to the boat and enjoy a hearty lunch on board.

   • In the evening, return back to your jungle resort. 

   • Enjoy a delicious dinner at the resort before retiring for the night.

3. Sunderbans Village and Return

   • Start your day with hot energetic tea and a delicious breakfast.

   • Set out for a guided village walk, in which participants are encouraged to have a close interaction with the local villagers in order to learn more about their livelihood. Here, you will also get to take a feel of the "mudflats".

   • Next, head towards a jungle village. Here, you will meet local fishermen, honey collectors, and woodcutters, who will share their experiences of the jungle with you.

   • After lunch at the resort at around 12:00 pm, depart for Godhkhali to be transferred to Kolkata.

   • Arrive at Kolkata by about 5:30 / 6:00 pm.
