Athens City Tour
Start your tour with the Acropolis site, a complex of buildings that includes the Parthenon (the best example of classic architecture of the 5th century BC), Erectheion (the temple with the 6 female figures, Caryatides), Temple of Athena, Nike (Wingless Goddess), Propylaia (the monumental Gate), Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Dionysus Theatre and finally the Mars Hill or Areios Pagos (the first ancient court and the place where St. Paul preached Christianity for the first time in Athens).
Waltz through the Temple Of the Olympian Zeus, the largest temple in Hellenic and Roman times. Also, make sure to go to the Panathenaic Stadium, the stadium of the first Olympic Games in 1896, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the ceremonial changing of the guards (Euzones) in front of the Greek parliament, opposite the Syntagma or Constitutional square.
Stroll through the revered Trilogy of Athens - the Academy, the First University of Athens and the National Greek Library.
Visit Lycabettus Hill, the highest peak of Athens, where you can take some great pictures of the entire city.
Enjoy a visit to the New Acropolis Museum, where you can admire the marbles of the Parthenon and a superb collection of artifacts and relics found on the Acropolis excavations or the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
End the tour with a mouth-watering Greek lunch as linger on.
