Itinerary
-
Kyoto Samurai Trail
- 9:00: Departure at your hotel or Kyoto Station.
- Syorenin Temple (Emperor's Residence 400 years ago. This temple is historically and culturally the best temple I've ever visited so far. No matter how many times I have visited this place, it never gets me bored. The essence of Kyoto culture.)
- Nanzenji Zen Temple and Water Bridge. In this place, you enjoy the beautiful scenery and dry garden. Walking around the water bridge is also fun. You will forget time is passing.
- 13:00: Lunch
- Nijyo Castle. It is one of the world heritage sites in Kyoto. Japan had so many castles and palaces in the past. Only a few original castle towers and palaces survive now. Nijyo Palace Is Japan's only palace that survived and is worth visiting. It is the living witness of the samurai age.
- Genkoan Temple. The temple is famous for its blood ceiling and two windows. I am probably the only guide in Kyoto who guides Genkoan. We don't need words. All you have to do is just sit for meditation.
- The tour ends at 17:00.
