Itinerary

1. Day 1- Lahore/Islamabad to Besham/Narran

   • Distance:
     • From Lahore: ~900 km (15-16 hours)
     • From Islamabad: ~470 km (8-10 hours)
     • Route: Follow the Hazara Motorway (M-15) and the Karakoram Highway.
     • Stay: Overnight in Chilas.

2. Day 2- Narran/ Besham to Hunza Karimabad

   Distance: ~250 km (6-7 hours)

   • Route Highlights:
     • Pass through Gilgit and admire the Indus and Hunza rivers converging.
     • Stop at Rakaposhi View Point for breathtaking views of the snow-capped Rakaposhi peak.
   • Activities in Karimabad (Hunza):
     • Visit Baltit Fort and its museum for historical insights.
     • Explore Altit Fort, known for its spectacular views of the valley.
   • Stay: Overnight in Karimabad.

   • Continue the drive to the breathtaking Hunza Valley, through a scenic route.

   • On the way, see the old Silk Route, perched precariously above the riverbank, which was used by Buddhist monks, traders, and locals. As we drive north along the Hunza River, the view is suddenly overtaken by the towering summit of Rakaposhi (7788 m). 

   • Stop for a while at the viewpoint to enjoy a grand view of the mountain.

   • Enter the Hunza Valley and arrive at the capital, Karimabad.

   Overnight at the hotel. (100 km., 2/3 hours drive)

3. Day 3- Hunza Valley Excursion

   • Distance: ~120 km (3-4 hours)
     • Route Highlights:
       • Drive through Attabad Lake: A serene turquoise lake formed by a landslide in 2010.
       • Pass through Gulmit, the cultural hub of Gojal.
       • Visit Passu Cones, famous for their jagged peaks.
     • Activities in Gojal:
       • Explore the beautiful villages and experience local culture.
       • Admire the surrounding Karakoram mountain range.
     • Stay: Overnight in Gojal.

   • Free day in Karimabad for a short walk to Altit and Baltit Forts, and other explorations around Hunza Valley. 

   • See some beautiful peaks of the Karakoram range from Karimabad, such as Rakaposhi, Diran, Ultar, Golden Peak, and the Nagar valley, on the left bank of Hunza river.

   • In Hunza, each family grows enough wheat, maize, apricots, and walnuts for their own use. The people are mostly self-sufficient, making their own clothes, shoes, wooden and stone bowls and growing all their own food. They are very friendly and cheerful and known for their long lives.

   • In the afternoon, walk up to the Ultar Glacier, follow the irrigation channel through the village or stroll through the single lane bazaar for better views of the soaring peaks around you.

   Overnight at the hotel. 

4. Day 4- Hunza to Gojal to Passu

   • Have breakfast and drive to the Gojal Valley.

   • Visit Hussaini Suspension Bridge, Borith Lake & Ghulkin Valley.

   • Enjoy lunch at Gulmit.

   • Drive to Passu for dinner and overnight stay.

5. Day 5- Passu to Khunjerab Pass

   • Have breakfast and drive to Khunjerab Pass.

   • En route, visit Attabad Lake, Sost, Passu and Gulmit.

   • Drive back to Sost for lunch.

   • After lunch, drive back to Hunza for dinner and night stay.

6. Day 6- Hunza to Besham/Narran

   • Drive along the banks of Hunza River on the Karakoram Highway.

   • Enjoy fascinating views of Karakoram Peaks from a different perspective. We might stop at Gilgit town for lunch.

   • Arrive at  Besham / Narran on the banks of the Indus River.

   Overnight at the hotel. (260 km., 6/7 hours drive)

7. Day 7- Besham/Narran to Islamabad

   • Start the full day drive on the Karakoram Highway to Islamabad. Start early in the morning, to cover the 12 hours long drive.

   • Take a short stop at Besham for lunch.

   • By evening, reach Islamabad.

   • Transfer to the airport/bus station. (500 km., 12/13 hours drive)

   End of tour.
