Experience Auckland's fascinating volcanic landscape, get a taste of Maori history and discover the wonderful West Coast, the home of Maui Dolphins, Seals (Kekenos) and native bird life. Every time anyone comes here, the scenery is always different! Leaving the crowds behind us, we will travel through the Kumeu wine region to the wild West Coast. Enjoy the wonderful nature on a walk through the mystic rainforest before reaching the 60 km long black sand beach. Be mesmerised by an amazing view over the Tasman Sea, and if you are lucky, you will see playful Maui Dolphins, sunbathing seals and about 3000 Gannets looking after their chicks (August-April). We head back to the "City of Sails", visit historical Bastion Point and get a taste of Maori history before we stop in a little seaside village where you will have the opportunity to have some lunch and enjoy one of the guide's favourite views onto Auckland's largest volcano, Rangitoto and Browns Island before visiting one of the guide's best-loved places, Maungakiekie.

City to Surf
Depart from the hotel around 8:30 am.
Travel through the Kumeu wine region to reach the fantastic west coast of the Tasman Sea.
Walk through the Nikau rainforests.
Continue to Otakamiro Point and explore one of the few booby colonies in New Zealand, where dolphins and seals frolic.
Head to the other significant parts of the city and learn about Maori history.
Experience Auckland's volcanic world and enjoy magnificent views of the city from the second-highest volcano, Maungakiekie.
Return to the hotel.
