Itinerary
-
Sightseeing in Keflavik, Reykjavik & Thingvellir
- Travel to Thingvellir National Park, one of Iceland’s most significant historical sites and the place where Iceland’s first parliament was founded in the year 930 AD.
- From Thingvellir, we head along mountain tracks toward the Gullfoss waterfall, a sight you will never forget: a site considered by many to be the most magnificent waterfall in Iceland.
- Visit the Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur Valley, where you will see hot springs spouting from the ground. Strokkur (Butter Churn) is a very active hot spring here. It may be smaller than the 70 to 80-metre high plume of steam that Great Geysir used to produce, but the 25 to 35-metre high eruption of steam is an amazing sight at only 4-5 minutes’ intervals.
- Optional in wintertime: on the way back, end the day by relaxing in a warm outdoor swimming pool.
Optional in the summertime: From May 1 to October 1, we will take you to bathe in a natural warm river. The hike takes about 2.5 to 3 hours along with bathing in the river.
