Itinerary

1. Day 1: Marrakech to High Atlas to Dades Gorges

   • Get picked up at your hotel or riad. 

   • Head towards the High Atlas. This range has the highest altitudes around North Africa. 

   • Continue to Ouarzazate, which is a village near the High Atlas mountains and the Draa River valley.

   • Go down the road of Thousand Kasbahs, entering the Dades Valley.

   • Continue on river road entering the narrow valley.

   Have dinner and spend the night.

2. Day 2: Dades Gorges to Todra Gorges to Merzouga

   • Depart to Todra Gorges through the vast palm grove of Tinerhir.

   • Arrive at the gorge where you can see the spectacular landscape.

   • Drive to Merzouga, where you will leave your luggage at the auberge and go to the desert by camel.

   • Once in Haima, have dinner and hear the drums echoing in the desert night and lie down in your tent.

3. Day 3: Merzouga to Erg Chebbi

   • Wake up early to watch the sunrise.

   • Visit a nomad family in the mid-day. 

   • Eat under the shade of a tree and see how the Berber pizza is made.

   • Leave to see an oasis in the desert in a 4×4 and also visit the town of Khamlia (village of the blacks), MIFISS mines, desert places, and meet the Berber nomads of the desert.

   • Return to the Haima, have dinner and spend the night in the tent.

4. Day 4: Merzouga to Rissani to Ouarzazate

   • Watch the sunrise and return on camels to the hotel.

   • Travel to Rissani and make a stop to visit the market.

   • Continue to the route to Ouarzazate, crossing the magnificent and spectacular Draa Valley with huge palm trees.

   • Arrive in Ouarzazate, have dinner and spend the night.

5. Day 5: Ouarzazate to Marrakech

   • Go to the fortified city called Ait Ben Haddou, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and where several films have been made like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and The Mummy.

   • Depart to Marrakech.
