Itinerary

1. Day 1: Marrakech to Tizi n Tichka to Ait Ben Haddou to Ouarzazate to Dades Gorges

   • Get picked up at 08:00 am, and start from Marrakech to the Dades Gorges across the Tizi-n-Tichka Atlas pass, with far-reaching views across the mountains, to the traditional High Atlas Berber villages. 

   • Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site and have lunch at one of the restaurants at the foothills of the Kasbahs. 

   • Continue to Dades gorges through Skoura and Rose Valley. 

   Spend the night in a traditional kasbah in Dades Gorges.

2. Day 2: Dades Gorges to Tenghir to Todra Gorges to Tinjdad to Erfoud to Merzouga

   • Post breakfast, drive from Dades Gorges to Erg Chebbi at Merzouga. 

   • See the Berber villages scattered along the way. 

   • Pass through Todra Gorges, Tenghir, Tinjdad, Jorf and Erfoud, the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. 

   • Continue to a hotel in Merzouga; after relaxing for a few minutes, take some of your luggage in a small bag (just the necessary for the night in the desert) and leave the other luggage in the hotel.

   • Ride the camels on the Erg Chebbi dunes, a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise. 

   • On reaching the camp, walk to the highest dunes for sandboarding, and enjoy the sunset. 

   Spend the night in a camp (Berber nomad tents) with drumming music in the middle of the Sahara.

3. Day 3: Merzouga to Erfoud to Ziz Valley to Midelt to Azrou to Ifrane to Fez

   • Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dunes in the Sahara Desert and have your breakfast. 

   • Ride your camel back to the hotel. 

   • Depart to Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous and the valley of Ziz, stopping for a panoramic view of the oasis of Aoufous in the Tafilalte region. 

   • Continue to Midelt across the pass of Tizi N’talghamt and have a lunch break. 

   • Post lunch, drive to Fez (the medieval city) via the Cedar forest near Azrou and the mountain of the middle Atlas with the possibility to see the Barbary apes (monkies). 

   • Make a stop in Ifrane (the Switzerland of Morocco) before arriving at Fez.

   • Get dropped off in Fez.
