Itinerary

1. Day 1: Depart from airport and reach Tanjung Harapan camp to feed Orangatuns

   • Get picked up from Pangkalan Bun airport by our guide, who will take you to Kumai by taxi after a short briefing. 
   • Board a traditional wooden boat called Klotok on the Seikonyer River. 
   • Visit the Tanjung Harapan camp and walk towards the feeding station. The orangutans come to the feeding platform in the afternoon. This is the right time to witness the Proboscis Monkeys from proximity. 
     • Spend the night on the boat.
     • Meals: Lunch & Dinner

2. Day 2: Enjoy boatride in the Sekonyer river

   • Cruise up the Sekonyer river for an hour to reach the second rehabilitation centre, for an orphaned baby orangutan at Pondok Tanggui. 
   • Walk through the forest for 45 minutes towards the feeding platform where the baby orangutan has been given additional food. 
   • Enjoy the surrounding views of the area. Here, you can spot some other wild and Borneo creatures while feeding the orangutans. 
   • Head back to the boat and cruise up for 2 hours to the oldest camp in Tanjung Puting National park and Camp Leakey. 
   • Explore the surrounding camp, visit the information centre and, if lucky, you can spot Tom, the king of orangutans here. 
   • Return to the boat for lunch and take rest. Sometimes orangutans can come to the jetty expecting food. Return to the boat to cruise down the river.
   • See many kinds of wild animals in their natural habitats such as the proboscis monkey, exotic birds, and macaques going back to their shelters.  
     • Spend the night on the boat.
     • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

3. Day 3: Move and Pesalat camp and later get transferred to airport

   • Enjoy an early morning breakfast before proceeding to the Pesalat Camp. 
   • Take a walk and see how the locals plant new trees hoping to sustain the green habitat.
   • Head back to the boat and cruise back to Kumai and travel to the Pangkalanbun airport by taxi for your onward flight.
