Visit Ancient Messene, a haven of peace and serenity. Explore the ancient site in southern Peloponnese, the largest in Greece, and its impressive structures like the Sanctuary of Asclepius, the Agora, and the stadium. Also, visit the museum and the Arcadian Gate nearby. The site is located on the slopes of Mount Ithomi in a beautiful area that's covered with olive trees. The city of Messene was founded in the 4th century b.c. in order to become the capital of a new state that was located to the west of Ancient Sparta.

Meet at the entrance of the archaeological site.
Visit the most interesting monuments of the site, such as the Sanctuary of Asclepius, the Agora, and the impressive ancient Stadium
Further, visit the small museum, which houses the statue of Artemis Laphria and the sculptures of Damophon, the most famous artist of Ancient Messene and one of the greatest of Antiquity.
The tour concludes with a short visit to the imposing Arcadian Gate, one of the two entrances to the ancient city.
