The itinerary

Day 01

Lake Manyara National Park and Transfer to Lake Eyasi

  • After breakfast, the tour departs.

  • Your first stop is Arusha Town for any last-minute purchases before heading off on the safari.

  • Afterward, continue to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats, including acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab-strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps, and the lake itself.

  • Thanks to this diversity, the small park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible birdlife. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world, and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing.

  • In the late afternoon, transfer to your private bush camp beside the lake.

Day 02

Bushmen Experience and Ngorongoro Crater

  • Set out early in the morning for a hunt with the Bushmen, with tuition in survival skills.

  • Afterward, transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife.

  • Visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here.

Day 03

Into the Serengeti and Seronera Game Drive

  • After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park.

  • Leaving the highlands behind, descend into the heart of wild Africa - the Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

  • Then head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti's species.

  • Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park.

Day 04

Full-Day Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Game Drive

  • After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. This day focuses on wildebeest migration game viewing.

Day 05

Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Lake Natron

  • After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive.

  • Then, after the game drive, continue toward northern Serengeti.

  • Check out of the park at Klein's Gate, then transfer to Lake Natron for an early dinner and overnight stay.

  • If time permits, go for an evening walk at sunset.

Day 06

Oldoinyo Lengai Summit Attempt and Return to Arusha

  • Make a night ascent and dawn summit bid on Oldoinyo Lengai, seismic conditions permitting.

    • Optional: Waterfall hike and swim, depending on what time your flight is leaving.

  • Afterward, transfer to Arusha for airport drop-off or an overnight stay. Overnight accommodation is available at an extra cost.
