Step on the holy soil of the Sacred mountain of Gerizim (גרוזיה) to explore its ancient tribe, the Samaritans. The story of the Samaritans goes back to more than 3000 years when the Samaritans numbered more than a million, and due to wars, exiles and revolts, their numbers decreased dramatically to less than 130 in 1930. There are now less than 800 Samaritans in the world living in the Holy Land. Visit the Samaritan Museum, Synagogue, Ruins and a Tahini factory. Don't forget to sample traditional Samaritan food and hummus.
