Follow an exciting trail that leads to Antonia’s Peak, the highest peak of Santiago (1394m). The route allows you to capture the scenic view of mountains and nature in your cameras. Moreover, behold the agricultural terraces and the islands of Fogo and Maio.

Know Before You Go

No hiking during the rainy days.

The peak time for it is between mid-August and early December. The walks are mainly downhill then up until you reach the top of the peak. Beware, though, that during the rainy season, which usually starts mid-late July and ends mid-October, trails can be slippery and, in a good year for rain, wiped out with streams rushing through them. Visibility can also be limited due to cloud cover and the rain itself.
