Walking Tour Of The East Village
Begin at the Astor Place subway station (where the number 6 train stops) from start walking towards the East Village.
Discuss the generation of this special corner of Manhattan through time - from the place of retirement for Peter Stuyvesant followed by the arrival later of the Delano's and the Astors on Lafayette Place to Kleine Deutschland on Second Avenue, and ultimately the arrival of the "beats" and the artists who followed.
End our walk near or just beyond Houston Street and Allen Street.
