Description
Salamis was one of the four biggest Kingdoms in Cyprus which was located on the east coast of the island in 11BC. Due to earthquakes and Arab raids, it was demolished in 7AD. Gymnasium, Roman Baths, and the Theatre will be visited today on our trip to Salamis today. We2ll drive to the Medieval city of Famagusta which is surrounded by beautiful high walls. We'll visit St. Nicholas Cathedral, Venetian Palace, and many other historical sights. You will have a cup of local Cypriot coffee and some free time before we leave for Varosha. You will hear about its history why it was called Ghost Town and was reopened after 46 years when we do our short walk. We then drive to Kyrenia and our first visit will be at Bellapais Monastery which is located on the slopes of the Kyrenia mountains. Kyrenia Castle is by the harbor and very well preserved from the Byzantine period. We'll visit the Shipwreck Museum which dates back from the 300BC. After some free time in the city the tour will end.

Kyrenia and Famagusta Tour
Drive to Kyrenia and visit Bellapais Abbey with the Cyrus tour guide. This building is a masterpiece of Gothic art and the most beautiful one in the Near East.
Travel to the Kyrenia Castle, built during the Byzantine Period in the 8th century.
Visit the Ship Wreck museum within the castle. The museum exhibits date back to 2318 years.
