Enjoy a 4-day excursion to the Pongolapoort Dam, Hluhluwe-Umfolozi & St Lucia Game Reserve. Established in 1897, the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve is the oldest wildlife sanctuary in Africa that offers a broad range of habitats, from rocky hillside to open savannah grass and thick woodland, supporting a wide variety of around 86 species of mammals. Visit the St Lucia Game Reserve, part of the St Lucia Estuary and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park's focal point, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Explore the Pongolapoort Dam, commonly referred to as Lake Jozini, an arch type dam in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, located on the Phongolo River.
Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve
- Pick up from the hotel in Pretoria.
- Travel in a south-easterly direction towards the town of Volksrust and enter the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
- Proceed to Vryheid.
Travel through the Zulu country and pass through the Zulu towns of Hlobane, Nongoma and Hlabisa.
Arrive at the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve at the Gunjaneni entrance gate.
Dinner in the Hilltop restaurant.

Day 2: Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve
Look for the “Big Five” African animals.
Enjoy a game drive in an open safari vehicle.
Savour some “braaivleis” (BBQ) food under the African skies.
Overnight stay in a luxury holiday resort.

Day 3: St Lucia Estuary Reserve
Travel to the St Lucia Estuary Reserve with a ranger guide and witness the lake's beauty.
Proceed to DumaZulu, a traditional kraal to enjoy Zulu dancing.
Have dinner either at the DumaZulu restaurant or in a local restaurant in St Lucia.
Overnight stay in a luxury holiday resort.
