Description

Visit the Church of the Holy Cross, also called "the smallest cathedral in the world“. It is the most valuable and preserved monument of ancient Croatian religious architecture and one of Nin's symbols. By its position and beauty, it dominates the area where it stands. See Nin that was the first political, religious and cultural centre of medieval Croatia. It was the place where the Croatian state was born. Nin is also the oldest Croatian royal town. Nin is famous for its medicinal mud which reliably cures many illnesses.

If interested, try a well-known Nin cuisine, šokol, a dried meat product made from the neck of pork, conserved in pure sea salt and seasoning. It is given its recognisable taste by a completely unique ‘ingredient’ that is, bura (north-easterly wind). It carries, with it, mountain air enriched with the scents and herbs from Velebit, mixed with the sea air.
