- Visit the famous Monkey Temple, also called the Swyambhunath Stupa; easily recognised by the Buddha's eyes and eyebrows. It is one of the most sacred among Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world.
- Go to the Pashupatinath Temple, the abode of Lord Shiva and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The temple is visited by 800,000 devotees during Maha Shivaratri.
- Proceed to the Bouddha Nath Stupa, whose massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal.
- Explore the Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is the old royal palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
