Itinerary
-
Day 1 : Chobe National Park
Meet the guide at 0830 hrs at Kazungula border-post (return transfers from Livingstone or Victoria Falls are included) and get assisted through Immigration formalities.
Listen to a short briefing that will follow on some pertinent facts such as safety and some regional information.
At 0930 hrs, board the boat and commence a 3-hour boat game cruise into the Chobe National Park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and African buffalo that make their way down to the river for the water.
End the boat cruise at 1230 hrs and enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch at the Chobe Safari Lodge (or similar).
Do some last-minute shopping in Kasane, as there are no shops in the Park.
Go for an afternoon game drive and see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way to and from the river to drink.
Return to the camp shortly before sunset for drinks around the campfire and dinner.
-
Day 2 : Chobe National Park
Rise and shine, wake up early with a cup of hot and refreshing tea and/or coffee.
After a quick continental breakfast, head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or and other nocturnals as they are still active and hunting and; with luck on your side, you may even find them on their previous night's kills.
Around mid to late morning, return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to take a refreshing bush bucket shower.
Go for another afternoon game drive following tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas yet to be unexplored are explored. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game – big cats and large herbivores such as elephant and African buffalo being a highlight, but a rarer game such as Puku, Eland, Sable, and Roan antelope among others can be encountered here also.
Return to camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat.
Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.
-
Day 3 : Return to Kasane
Head off on another early morning game drive. This time of day again is the best for finding the big cats, try to track those distress calls and the predators' victory celebration sounds that troubled you the previous night. The chances of encountering the trouble-makers are not uncommon.
Around mid to late morning, return to the camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to take a refreshing shower.
When it starts cooling off, pack up, break camp, and leave the camp on the last game drive.
Get dropped off in Kasane at 1630 hrs (for those of our guests staying in Botswana) and in Victoria Falls or Livingstone at 1830 hrs.
