Description

Let's meet at the gate of Valletta for our Online tour, streamed live from the fortified city.

In the first square, we will see the Parliament built by the famous Renzo Piano and the old Royal Opera house, redesigned after being destroyed during WW2. In the next square, we will meet the founder of the city and visit the church of Our Lady of Victories, learning about the Knights of Saint John, the crusaders who built the city.

From there, we move to Castille, another important square with one of the most impressive buildings in the city, the Auberge of Castille. Our next step is Upper Barraka Gardens, where we have views over the Great Harbour, the biggest natural harbour in Europe.

Our next destination is Merchant street, one of the main streets of the city, where we can find some interesting buildings, like the Auberge of Italy, where the Italian knights used to meet, and the Palazzo Parisio, where Napoleon lived when he conquered the islands, and the Castellania, the Courts of the knights.

We will conclude our tour at St John's Cathedral, one of the finest examples of high Baroque architecture in Europe and a repository of uncountable pieces of art, including two masterpieces created by Caravaggio.
