Description
In this online experience, you will visit Ljubljana's charming historical centre. Named after the green Ljubljanica River that winds through the city, Ljubljana traces its roots date back to ancient Roman times and has amassed a number of architectural styles to boast about throughout the years.
We will begin our tour with a visit to the Triple Bridge, followed by those to the Congress Square, the Academia Philharmonicorum, and the National Library with its unique architecture and windows that look like open books.
As we walk around, find out why the Butcher's Bridge is also called the Bridge of Love and why the Jewish Street is considered so special, and get to know what is hidden inside the old town of Ljubljana. I will take you to see the Prešeren Monument and tell you more about the story of the greatest Slovenian poet and his muse.
Familiarise yourself with the history of Ljubljana as we wander this mostly pedestrian district that serves as the city's creative and cultural hub. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Alenka Srsen was born in Slovenia to a Croatian mother and a Slovenian father. She has been in this profession for the last 17 years as an endless traveller, foodie and tour guide. Apart from truly enjoying my work as a tour guide, she is also an avid hiking enthusiast like every Slovene, especially since she lives on the Sunny Side of the Julian Alps. During her studies, she has worked across Europe and Africa, especially in Egypt, where she worked for some time. In her free time, she likes to visit hidden cultural monuments in Slovenia and discover Slovenian mountains and hills scattered all across the beautiful country. She adores Ljubljana and its rich history and prefers to talk about its architectural gems and introduce its sights to others. She will also teach you how to pronounce Ljubljana as a local would!
