We will begin our tour with a short walk towards the Kaptol, the oldest part of the city, where the Cathedral is located. Going ahead, we will reach the Dolac market, the biggest and the most popular green market in the city, where I will explain what Croatians like to eat and drink.
Our next stop is Tkalciceva Street, the street full of bars and restaurants, which was known in the past as the border between Kaptol and Gradec and a place of frequent conflicts between citizens of Kaptol and Gradec. We will walk across a Bloody Bridge and continue with our journey to the WWII Tunnel, which was built as a shelter for citizens of Zagreb.
On our way to the Upper Town, we will go through Stone Gate, the last remaining door to the Gradec. Now we are in Gradec; after a short walk to the hill, we will reach St Mark Square, where you will find the most beautiful church of St Mark, which dates back to the 13th century and is located together with the Parliament building and Government headquarters called Banski dvori. Towards the end of the tour, we will visit tower Lotrscak, one of the most recognized symbols of Zagreb and you will hear cannon shots from the top floor every noon. Then, we will finally end our tour on the main Ban Jelacic Square.
