Description

Join me on this Online Experience and let us venture together into one of the most exciting cities in all of Europe - Düsseldorf!

We will start our virtual tour with a stroll down the city's most glittering, glamorous part, the elegant shopping boulevard Königsallee. Enjoy a scenic view of the landscaped canal that runs along the boulevard's centre as we explore the luxury stores that dot its sides, giving this area a Parisian feel.

Next, we will make our way to the heart of the city, the notorious Old Town known as Altstadt, which has many exciting stories to offer - most of which have to do with Germany's favourite beverage: beer! Here, we will unpack the fascinating story of how this erstwhile fishing village on the banks of the tiny river Düssel got its title as "the longest bar in the world" and what exciting, dramatic and curious events happened over time.  We will also talk about the local beer variants brewed in the 400+ breweries in the area.

During our walk, we will also explore some interesting stories associated with the city: from Heinrich Heine's birthplace and a famous princess' castle to totalitarian rulers on horseback and what Napoleon's favourite street was; you are bound to be astounded and very entertained. This tour will end at the lovely riverside promenade of Düsseldorf, which offers a memorable view across Europe's busiest river, a sight that appears to be straight out of antique postcards.
