Description

Welcome to the University of Pennsylvania! Commonly referred to as Penn, this Ivy League university is considered one of the finest in the United States. Founded in the 1740s by a group of men that included the legendary patriot Benjamin Franklin, Penn has consistently led the way in academia and research. Students at Penn are offered a wide array of courses in four undergraduate and twelve graduate and professional schools, many of which are world-renowned like the Wharton School of Business, the Perelman School of Medicine, and the Penn Carey School of Law.

In addition to this first-class educational experience, Penn also boasts a serene, tree-lined campus in the middle of urban West Philadelphia. In this online experience, we will stroll down Locust Walk, the main pedestrian thoroughfare of the campus. Here, you will learn about this university and its student life as we pass by modern student housing complexes, Greek Life houses, and various academic buildings.

We will wind our way through campus, past stunning pieces of architecture, and towards two of the most historic and iconic venues in all of collegiate athletics: the Palestra basketball arena and Franklin Field. Next to them stands the Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, which is considered by many to be the finest such museum in the country.

In course of this tour, I will also tell you more about things to do in the neighbourhood of West Philadelphia, with its endless shops and restaurants and beautiful public parks just a short walk off-campus. Plus, it’s just a ten-minute ride by train or trolley to Center City Philadelphia, meaning that one of America’s largest and most historic cities is practically in Penn’s backyard.

Join this tour to one of the top universities of the United States and discover everything that the University of Pennsylvania has to offer.

Meet your Host
Adam Clements

I moved to Philadelphia from New Hampshire over ten years ago, and the history, culture, food, and architecture of Philadelphia made an immediate impact on me.

I received my Masters Degree in American History at a local university and spend much of my time learning more about this incredible city. I became a guide with North America Tour Hub and have since become the manager for the Philadelphia region.

Whether driving guests into the heart of Amish country, taking them to the best cheesesteak shop in town, or leading them around the countless historic landmarks of the old city, I relish in showing everything Philadelphia has to offer.
