Description
The buildings at The University of Oslo are spread out over four parts of the city. The campus I will be showing you is the main campus, named Blindern which is located on the western outskirts of the city centre.
We will start our live-streamed Campus tour at the entrance of the Blindern student home, right by one of the metro stations of the city. This is the oldest building in the campus, built in 1925 and protected as city heritage. We will make our way up its tree adorned entrance to the main building that houses a total of 213 students.
I will then take you inside the area of the main campus. At the main campus you will find the administration for the faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Theology. The central administration for the University is also located at the main campus. I will tell you some historical facts as well as notes about the student life at the campus and the different disciplines you can join while being a student at The University of Oslo.
During our tour, we will pass the health facilities and various student support associations. I will show you the traditional building made of wood, the base for the offices of The Students Parliament. I will also take you inside one of the popular eating spots on the campus and show you one of the sports facilities.
You will also have a chance to explore the library building. In this tour, you will have the chance of feeling the peaceful natural surroundings of the campus in contrast to the vibrant student life of its many restaurants and entertainment establishments. You will hear about the different study programs available and see some of the highlights of the student life at the campus in Oslo.
