Description
Join me for a visit to the highlights of Thimphu. We will start our tour with a visit to Buddha Dordhenma, the second-largest Buddha Statue in the World Heritage. The statue is 8 km away from the main city and covers a total area of 943.3 acres. You will be surprised that it is 8336 feet above sea level.
Then, we will proceed to the Changangkha Monastery, famous as the place where all newborn babies are christened. The local deity Aup Dhomtshang is believed to care for all the babies born in the city.
Finally, we will head to the Zilukha Viewpoint. From here, you can experience the spectacular view of Tashichho Dzong. If time permits and the nunnery is open, we will visit the Zilukha Nunnery, the biggest in Bhutan, known as the Thangthong Dewachen Nunnery.
