Join me on this live-streamed Online Experience to explore the City of Bogota, the capital of Colombia, with a population of around 8 million people. It is a place of convergence for people from all around the country and is therefore diverse and multicultural. Within this city, the past and present come together.
On this virtual tour, we will discover the historical centre 'La Candelaria' and its neighbourhood. And you will learn about four periods of our history; before the conquest, the indigenous "Muiscas" use to live in this land, and I will also tell you about the prehispánico period. Then, I will introduce to the colony, followed by republic time and ending with modernity.
While strolling through the cobblestoned streets of Bogota, you will discover some of the popular landmarks such as the colonial-era Cathedral, neoclassical Capitol, the Bolivar Square, Supreme Court, Presidential Palace, and the City Hall.
