Description
Join me for a virtual walk of the the most historical town in all of Cape Town - Stellenbosch. Our live streamed online experience begins at the oldest part of town, where we will explore quaint streets as I tell you the story of how and why this town first took began taking shape. You will also get to see how architecture in the southernmost part of Africa was influenced by the events happening in Europe and the greater world. I will draw you a picture of the world that was while you transpose it into a world that is.
Along our way, we will also get to admire the café culture and the vibey atmosphere in the town, which also happens to be the site of one of the top universities in South Africa and the birthplace of some great Rugby players. Taking a peek into this lively university town, you are sure to be inspired by the culture of Stellenbosch, its intellectual lifestyle, and how it harmonises with a predominantly conservative Afrikaans neighbourhood.
I look forward to meeting you on this tour and you the best this area has to offer.

Meet your Host
Radheeka Reyatt
I moved to Cape Town 20 years ago to study at one of the prestigious universities in Cape Town and studied History, Art and Culture. Having worked as a business development manager with portfolios in South America and Pan Asia and product development for a couple of international corporate companies for almost a decade- I decided to err on the side of adventure and left my safe cushion job for a travellers dream and became a tourist guide in Cape Town. Five years into being a guide for the Western Cape (Cape Town and surrounding area) I became a national guide for the whole of South Africa. I live in Stellenbosch presently and have a well-rounded opinion of living like a local and an outsiders perspective when looking into things.
