Dal Lake is far from most people’s idea of modern India and is unlike any other place on earth. It is situated in the far north of India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and is overlooked by the mighty Himalayas. The Kashmir valley is blessed with some of India’s most picturesque landscapes and has been rightfully described as "Paradise on Earth". It is widely known as the “Jewel in the Crown of Kashmir” and the locals refer to it as the “Jewel of Srinagar”.
Those unfamiliar with the location of this lake may be surprised to learn that, it is not located in a remote and isolated spot, the Dal Lake is situated within the city of Srinagar and is therefore regarded as being an urban lake. It is the hub of water sports like water ski and is a swimmers paradise. It is the go-to destination for the Hindi film industry which is also known as Bollywood.
Just a glimpse of the floating gardens, marvellous lotus and water lily orchards will leave you mesmerised. The colourful floating shops made of wood and Kashmiri Art Galleries will enable you to imbibe the traditional and cultural water life. You will experience all this and more on our live-streamed online experience from the Dal Lake.
