Join me in real-time on this Online Experience and visit the Hawa Mahal, known far and wide as the pride of Jaipur, from the comfort of your own home. With its name literally translating into the "Wind Palace," this monument made of pink and red sandstone is one of the defining reasons for the epithet of "Pink City" held by Jaipur. 

We will start our visit from outside the main facade of the Hawa Mahal to see the panoramic view of its 953 jharokhas (windows), once used by the queens to observe the royal processions and markets. Passing through bustling lanes in the old city market, you will catch a glimpse of local life, and I will keenly supply you with some insights into the local culture and heritage.

We will then go inside the more austere interiors of the Hawa Mahal and explore the complex one floor at a time. Here, you will get to admire the city from the inside out. As we pass through the various rooms that reflect a combination of Islamic and Rajput architecture, I will narrate numerous tales of royalty, valour and conquests from Rajputana and Marwari history, and pepper our experience with interesting facts. For example, did you know  that the palace does not have a foundation, but has been standing sturdy and strong for the past 200 odd years?
