Description
Learn the teachings of Buddha and the meaning of 'Om Mani Padme Hum' on this interactive Online Experience streamed live from the Potala Palace.
As we walk around the premises, I will show you walls with inscriptions of mantras and paintings of various re-incarcerations of the Buddha and learn about each form like the 'Compassion Buddha' and 'Wisdom Buddha'. Take a moment to appreciate the panoramic views of Lhasa as I climb to the top of the palace and also catch my breath (there are some 490 steps to the top of the palace). Along the way, I will tell you about the Dalai Lama and his religious significance for the people of Tibet. I will share a lot of interesting information such as the schools where the Dalai Lamas receive their education or the proper way to offer prayers the Buddhist way. As I take you through various gates, closely observe the use of colours and the intricately carved wooden doors and meticulously painted murals of the 'Four Garden Kings' and learn about their significance in Buddhism.
Join me on this tour and let us explore the spiritual home of the Buddhist faith together!

Meet your Host
Dhundup Dolma
I am a local tourist guide from Lhasa and have been guiding all across Tibet since 2006. My father is from Kham and my mother is from Lhasa. Based on my experience and knowledge I can show you authentic and unique places. I love Tibetan history, culture, religious practices and opera. I learnt Tibetan opera as a child in school and practice it sometimes during special ceremonies or festivals. I love to challenge myself by taking on high altitude trekking.
