Welcome to Banias National Park! In this live-streamed, interactive Online Experience, I will take you to admire the beauty of waterfalls, cliffs and forests, which contain fascinating and significant historical and archaeological sites. We will inspect the ruins of ancient temples and 2000-years-old palaces of Jewish kings.
This nature reserve is one of the most visited sites in Israel. One can spend days exploring the trails, examining the ruins, and enjoying a picnic in the lush green woodlands. Still, in 1 hour, I will help you uncover 3 historical aspects of this site:
First, we will visit and learn about the old Greco-Roman temple complex that is now mere ruins of what once was a sanctuary of Pan, one of the most controversial diety in the Pagan pantheon of gods. Second, we will learn why St Peter got his name in Caesarea Philippi and what was the secret message Jesus gave to the apostles during their visit to Caesarea Philippi (Matthew 16). I will read relevant verses from the bible and display how the Bible comes to life when travelling to Israel's biblical locations. Finally, I will take you to the palace of the 1st-century Jewish King Agrippa and learn about the war declared by the Jews on the Romans. If time allows, we will visit the only chimney-type flour mill that is still functioning as it did in ancient times.
Beyond the joy of the tour and the interesting historical anecdotes, I believe this tour will give Christian believers an even more accurate understanding of the gospels and strengthen their connection with the scriptures.
