Description

Look at the Hungarian Jewish community's exciting and rich culture!

During this live-streamed tour, we walk you through the Northern part of Buda Castle hill, which is one of the least visited parts of the hilltop neighbourhood. The residential part of Castle Hill was once the home of a large Jewish community which played an important part in the medieval history of Hungary. I will introduce you to the story of two medieval synagogues as we walk past them. While we walk the quiet streets of the castle, I will also tell you a few stories about those who’s been awarded the "Righteous Among the Nations" title.

Adam

I finished my education in 2011 and have been working as a qualified guide ever since. In 2016, I completed a special course organized by the Budapest History Museum for local tourist guides. In 2019 I qualified as a guide of the Dohany street synagogue. Other than just telling facts and figures, I strongly believe that guiding should be entertaining as well. Educating while entertaining is the key phrase for me. As I was born and raised in Budapest I have been an eyewitness to a sleeping beauty's transformation into a multi-cultural metropolis. I can be your insider man to understand the Hungarians better and to have some experiences with the local life.
