Description
Join me on this online campus tour for an insider's look into the University of Hong Kong. Established in 1911, HKU, as it is popularlt known, has now developed into one of the leading universities in Asia and around the world.
We will begin this tour at the main building, where I will tell you about the Parsi businessman who donated to its construction. We will also visit the Elliot and May Hall to experience the traditional campus life of the university, as well as Sun-Yat-Sen Plaza and Lily Pond to commemorate the people who have shaped modern Chinese history. Walk along the university street to see the contrast between the past and the future with the change in outlook both in terms of architecture and the university's positioning. Later, visit the Centennial Campus where the shifting focus on research and knowledge transfer in the academia manifest on space-making.
During the tour, I will share with you some quirky stories about the local traditions, local life, graduates and staff. As a graduate from HKU myself, I will also be happy to answer any questions you may have and alleviate any concerns.
