Description
On this live-streamed, interactive Online Experience, I will take you on a walk around Tirana and help you look at it from the perspectives of writers and historians who have written about it, and of the ordinary locals who create new stories here every day.
The walk will begin from Kafe Flora, a popular meeting point inspired by the book "Meriyll". Beginning with the writer's perspective, we will head to the main square, where we will be surrounded by some of the most important buildings of the town such as the National Museum, Palace of Opera and Ballet, Mosques and Churches, and Ministries.
After doing the circular loop, we will head to the viewpoint named the "House of Leaves", which served as an institution for the secret service during the communist regime. It is connected to another communist-era building named "Bunker" which reflects the dark period for Albanian Intellectuals.
This experience will end near Toptani Castle, which is the most vivid part of the city and beloved by all. At the end of the tour, you will have your own unique perspective on the beauty, resilience and loveliness of Tirana!

Meet your Host
Gent Imera
I was the youngest licensed tour guide at the first ceremony conducted by the ministry of tourism in 2017.
Prior to that, I worked for 2 years as an assistant at the EPOKA University, curating all the lectures developed in the electronics laboratory. Then over 4 years, I worked in the sector of civil society, where I was the administrator of the network “Albanian Alps Alliance”. At that time, I coordinated five projects being implemented in the North of Albania, tackling issues of rural development, with a focus on social-environmental and economic issues.
I enjoy guiding and am passionate about showing new people around my city. I would love to take you around Tirana and ensure your experience is fun, informative, and ultimately unforgettable.
