Description
This live-streamed, interactive online experience will allow you to explore the oldest university in the capital of the United States, Georgetown University - in fact, the university and its neighborhood are actually older than Washington D.C itself! As one of the most prestigious universities in the United States, Georgetown has over 40 majors and over 50 discipline areas for their Ph.D., Professional Doctorate, Master’s, and Certificate level program. Their most famous schools are Georgetown Law and McDonough School of Business, which have provided our nation with top-notch lawyers and businessmen from all around the world.
This extraordinary university has a beautiful traditional campus with a majestic Romanesque and gothic twist. Georgetown's Healy Hall is one of the most iconic structures in D.C. in terms of its architecture and grand nature, even visible from across the Potomac River in Virginia. As a Catholic and Jesuit affiliated university, the school also houses a beautiful and intimate chapel.
Georgetown University’s cozy and quaint campus is the quintessential experience of an American college; it is an optimal bubble for those who wish to still have a classic student experience but still only minutes from the hustle and bustle of our nation’s capital. Less than 2 blocks from the university are the historic neighborhood of Georgetown, one of the most popular weekend spots for your local Washingtonian to brunch and shop. This neighborhood has direct access to the Potomac River, where you can picnic in a small park next to it or do some water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding.
The athletic programs at Georgetown University are considered to be in the top 20 in the United States. Their football team is one of only two collegial football teams in the capital, alongside Catholic University. Their men’s and women’s basketball teams have won many titles and their rowing team gets to practice in the Potomac River.

Meet your Host
Juliana Bedoya
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. I moved to New York at the age of 8 and used my passion for history and anthropology to quickly learn and assimilate with American culture. Once I moved to Washington, D.C., I started using the city as a way to explore my passions through frequent visits to the museums and monuments. While working for the Smithsonian's, I realized how much I enjoyed creating conversations with visitors. Ultimately, this lead to my becoming a tour guide!
