Description
Journey through 100 years of Hong Kong's architectural history, from old to contemporary, from western to Chinese, on this live-streamed online experience of the Central district.
Hop on the Central-Mid-Levels Escalators with me, the world's longest elevated covered walkway that connects Queens Road Central to many roads and localities in the Mid-levels. We will get off at various points to visit some of the popular attractions like the Man Mo Temple, which serves as a place of worship and community gatherings and the Colonial Compound of Law and Order. We will walk through the wet market at Graham Street Market, the oldest surviving open-air market on Hong Kong Island. From there, stroll into Hollywood Road, the first road built on Hong Kong island. Take a detour to Aberdeen Street to see the PMQ and Central Market, a 1950's modernist' manifestation of "form follows function" and a fantastic place to end the tour.
