Description
I am an Egyptologist and would love to share the mysteries and wonders of the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx on a real-time walking tour. We will start with the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Going around it, you will see the Queen's Pyramids as well.
Then, I will head towards the Pyramid of King Chephren and the Pyramid of King Mekyrenos and tell you interesting facts about them on the way. On arriving there, you will get panoramic views of the pyramids.
Finally, we will drive to the Sphinx, where you will see the Valley Temple, which is dedicated to mummification. Our last stop will be at the Great Sphinx, where you will get to know the meaning of its name, the myths behind its broken nose, and many other interesting facts.

Tour Reviews
-
Most interesting and informative tour of the Pyramids of Giza, complete with taking us to the best places for pictures- even if they had to be screen shots. I feel like we got the full experience with horse and carts coming and going in between cars- with what seemed to me to be no fear. A great online interactive experience while we in Melbourne Australia can’t go very far from home thanks for a great remote adventure.
-
This was a great virtual tour of the Pyramids. Weather was good and it was nice to be able to drive around them and get a glimpse of the pyramids and the Sphinx. Khaled supplemented the tour with his own pictures enabling our group a better understanding of what lies inside the pyramids. All in all a great guided trip by Khaled.
For now that's as close as we can get to them but once travel is back to normal i will be planning a family trip there.
-
What an amazing experience to discover the Pyramids through this medium! My two girls (7 and 9) absolutely loved it as did the grownups. We learnt so much in such a short time and would highly recommend this to everybody to do. We will probably end up doing it again this year since we are unable to travel anywhere.
-
Khaled was really friendly and fielded questions from my 6 and 8 year old daughters in a patient and serious manner. He had prepared some materials to aid explanations and to show us areas that he couldn't go into as there was no signal. though it was on zoom, it was still an awesome experience to see the pyramids 'live'.
-
My first online experience of a virtual tour! It was a great experience and Khaled is very knowledgeable about the pyramids. He shared many stories and histories with us throughout the whole time, as well as photos of pyramids. He then drove to show us around the place, before he took us on a walk to show us more. He encourages questions from the group as well and answers each of the questions with ease and great details. Very pleasant experience!
-
Thanks to our tour guide, Khalid, my family & I got to "visit" the pyramids and Sphinx, all from the comforts of our living room. The only thing better would have been actually being there ourselves, but we're glad to be still be able to visit now. Khalid was very informative and gave very good explanations! He drove us around to the complex to see several pyramids and finally ended up at the Sphinx, where he walked us right up to it. He gave very clear answers to our questions. Highly recommended!
-
The tour was informative and fun. It was exciting to get up close to the pyramids up close even virtually. The phone zoom was really useful. Pity the data signal inside the pyramid would not work properly for Zoom. Overall it was an awesome tour. Khaled the guide was clear and accommodating.
-
Khaled was an excellent tour guide. The start with a map view was most helpful to know about the relative positions of the pyramids. He took us around and was thoughtful and thorough and very knowledgeable. We had a great time and are eager to go to Egypt when we can post covid.
-
Myself and my two boys were transported to Egypt by our wonderful guide Khaled Aly. From the dull Sussex countryside to the dazzling Pyramids of Giza from the comfort of our home. Well actually we would have rather left our home but this this was a good compromise during COVID times. Our guide Khaled Aly was super knowledgeable, kind and very happy to answer all of our questions. We loved this tour and would highly recommend it to all.
-
We had a great time with Khaled - he was super knowledgeable and had great facts to tell. This was the first virtual tour we have been on and the whole process was really good - We had reminders from TourHQ, the zoom details were easy and sent in plenty of time and Khaled was there ready and waiting for us when our slot came up. Khaled was very friendly and articulate and it was a great way to spend an hour. Thank you very much!
-
I absolutely enjoyed this new experience of a guided tour of The Pyramids Of Giza through Live zoom. Our guide, [khaled Aly zaki Hussien], was very knowledgeable and engaging. The technology worked well and despite the 8,000km separating us, I really felt transported to the site from my living room. I liked that we were a small group, enabling us to ask lots of questions and making the guided tour interactive all through to the end.
-
Khalid was a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable and perfect English. We had a useful introduction with a short outline of the country, its capital and the Nile. Then a short history of the kings of Egypt and how the pyramids were built. Then Khalid drove and walked us around several pyramids, inside the mummification rooms and a closeup view of the sphinx. Lots of interesting background information and really lovely to see what we could expect as and when we are able to visit in person.
-
Dear Khaled and Tour HQ team. This is a wonderful experience that you have created and bringing things Live and alive was superb. As shared with you it was my parents anniversary today and just 4 months ago we moved to their city and started staying closer to them. So doing this tour today along with them in the comfort of our home on such a special day was absolutely memorable experience. Thank you so much for the wonderful one memorable hour :-)
-
We found the tour very interesting. We really liked that Khaled, our guide, was always ready to answer all our questions. He first explained to us the history of Egypt, showing us pictures and then…. He showed us the pyramids!! He drove around the pyramids telling us where and why the pyramids were built (you need to join the tour to find out….) Whenever we wanted to ask a question, Khaled always knew the answer. He is a very knowledgeable guide and passionate about his country and its rich history! Thank you very much, Khaled!
-
Khaled was an excellent tour guide for our virtual tour showing us pictures, walking around the pyramid, driving us around the pyramids and waking around the Sphinx. We connected with family on different zoom screens. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We were delayed getting on the line and he was very accommodating. A great way to “travel” given the circumstances that I would highly recommend if you are looking for a great thing to do for your family in the shutdown.
-
Khaled was friendly and informative. There were two of us on the tour with him. One is living alone during COVID and said it was a “virtual visit of a lifetime” to see the Pyramids and the Sphinx through our guide’s camera, visual aids, and descriptions. Our connection was good the whole time. As with any virtual visit, your view is only as wide as your screen and you can’t go inside places that are dark or have no internet access, but the chance to drive/walk in this place so far from us with our own personal—and very knowledgeable—guide in real time was worth it. One day we will come in person!
-
We took this online tour with Khalid today, and had a memorable and enjoyable 1-hour seeing the pyramids of Giza. Khalid's pleasant manner, as well as the knowledge he shares about Egypt's and the pyramids' history, adds further to the experience. He had planned it well so as to add a lot in just 1 hour.
-
Really enjoyed this virtual tour! The tour guide Khaled Ali was knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer any queries. This is the next best thing to travelling and it was thrilling to be able to see the pyramids and sphinx up close and in real time. Try it! You won't regret it... though of course the actual physical viewing is better.
-
Have always wanted to travel to Egypt but never got a chance to. I chanced upon this virtual (and live!) tour in an advertisement and thought I’d give it a try. The tour was so informative and interesting! Khaled is very knowledgeable in the history and facts of these pyramids and also took time to answer any questions we had. It was amazing seeing these pyramids and the Sphinx (even though it’s through the screen).
-
Khaled was a friendly and patient host who speaks great English. He is very knowledgeable. I am so impressed by his ability to single-handedly narrate to his virtual audience, drive, navigate the zoom app and always maintaining a bright smile on his face. So easy going and such a comfortable ambience, this is the tour if you want to see the pyramids! His presentation is precise with real live footage matched against well taken photographs. Well done, Khaled!
-
Good introduction for someone to haven’t been to Egypt at all. The visual around the place and bringing focus to some details are interesting. Sharing of pictures of places inside the pyramids are also helpful. Khaled is knowledgeable and welcomes questions. I guess more time is needed to have a more immersive experience.
-
We joined Khaled today from Singapore on a virtual tour of the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. It was an amazing experience and felt as if we were actually there! Khaled spoke clearly and was extremely knowledgeable and shared many interesting unknown facts about Ancient Egypt and the pyramids. We cannot wait to visit Egypt and see these beautiful structures up close! Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us from afar!
-
Had an online tour with Khaled for the Pyramids of Giza, though the tour was done via online, he provided an excellent insight about the pyramids and their history. It was a truly wonderful experience, learnt a lot and I look forward to the day when I can see the wonders of Egypt in person. Thank you very much, Khaled!
-
The virtual tour is really interesting and an eye-opener for me and my family. We really enjoy but hopefully can do longer as we started to have the feel on it. However, other than that, Khaled did answer our question and wish next time can do the actual tour in Egypt!!! A must-go place!! Looking forward to it!!
-
It is an interesting online tour where tour guide Mr Khaled Ali drove his car and showed me the pyramids and the Sphinx. No time was wasted. Explanations were clear and he spoke good English which helps me to understand him well. The online tour is about an hour which suits me as I prefer tours that are concise and well organised.
-
Khalid was a magnificent guide - he did a wonderful job of explaining the history of the pyramids and did so in a manner which was easy to understand for the whole family. He did a great job of communicating across all the participants and we all felt like we were there, on site with him. This proved to be a really excellent, practical way of visiting one of the most interesting archaeological sites in the world. I cannot recommend this site and Khalid, as guide, enough!
-
I would like to congratulate you on the excellent Tour of the Pyramids.
I watched in the company of my family here in Melbourne, Australia, and in Switzerland.
The guide, Khalid, is a highly intelligent and personable man with great gifts of presentation and teaching.
He speaks excellent English and I believe was responsible for my enjoyment of the tour and now my enhanced understanding of the history of ancient Egypt.
Thanks again, Khalid, and the tour organisers,
James Anderson

The next best thing of physically going to Egypt and the pyramids is to watch it virtually with Khaled. Khaled has very good knowledge of the area , pyramids and the Sphinx. He took us on a drive with him around the area and explained in great detail including answering all our questions! Even though the cell signal gets patchy at places - khaled quickly reconnected and never felt us feel away! It was a first time experience of doing a virtual tour on Zoom but it was a really exceptional experience - highly recommended !
-
We have just completed our first tour with Tour HQ with family around the world and what a wonderful experience we had with Khaled at the Pyramids of Giza. Khaled was professional and highly informative, but he was also humorous and very kind. He was very happy to interact with us and answer any questions we had including those from our children. Khaled has provided us with an experience and information that we'll never forget. A benefit to this tour during this time of pandemic is that there were very few tourists and the experience was as if we had the whole pyramids to ourselves. Needless to say, I highly recommend this fabulous tour and wonderful host. Thank you Khaled.
-
Khaled gave me and my family this tour as part of my 75th birthday celebration. We had a great time. He explained the background and history patiently to my grandchildren. He also made the effort to learn how to wish me in my native language Hindi! The system held up quite well and we were able to hear him well. He drove over to Sphinx and showed us around that area as well. Strongly recommended.
-
Khaled was our guide for Pyramids and Sphinx for a birthday celebration of my Grandfather. He did a great job, explaining the background to all the kids also and showed us around every thing. He got a local camel man to wish in Arabic and in Hindi too! He was fun and the tour worked very well
-
We had a lovely virtual tour by Khaled for my father’s 75th birthday. Khaled is articulate, knowledgeable, he interacts very well with people ( which is not always easy on zoom calls with multiple screens ). He made it extra special for my father by making it personal - he had done a hieroglyph of my father’s name ! He had thought through the tour - so it didn’t feel rushed but also covered all the important places; the technology worked very well; the interactivity was amazing - he answered everyone’s questions - the kids and the adults ! Overall - highly recommend Khaled . We look forward to meeting him in person when we visit Egypt and having him as our guide
